Healthy Eating in our Nursery
A healthy balanced diet and regular physical activity are essential for children's health and well-being. We strive to provide a well balanced and nutritional menu, the food is prepared fresh each day by our cook with high quality ingredients.
Developing the social aspect of meal times is also important to establish good eating habits which is why our children and staff sit down together to have a 'family-style' meal and promote good table manners.
Children have up to three meals during their nursery day, depending upon the times they arrive and leave. Drinks and healthy snacks are also served and the older children are encouraged to help themselves.
We encourage all children to try a variety of foods and ask all parents and carers to complete a questionnaire which includes their child's dietary requirement when a child starts here at Mazehill. This enables practitioners to have a clear understanding if a child has any allergies and their likes and dislikes.
Our latest Food & Hygiene inspection carried out by Sheffield Environmental Health awarded the kitchen 5 out of 5 stars, highlighting the kitchen is of a operated and maintained to a high standard.
